Mont Alto theater students to perform puppet show

On April 13, Penn State Mont Alto theater students will perform a puppet show about recycling and a creative drama on sharing beginning at 3 p.m. at the Waynesboro YMCA located at 80 East Main Street in Waynesboro. About 60 children, ages 3 to 5 years old will attend the performance.

Forestry alum plants tree in grandfather’s memory

On May 4, Forestry Instructors Craig Houghton and Beth Brantley took time from grading papers during finals week to assist former forestry student, Brett Reichard ’16, to plant a tree in the memory of his grandfather, Gerald W. Reichard, who passed away in October 2016.
Final touches are added to the planting of the Henry Hartman '59 commemorative tree.

Arbor Day event beautifies arboretum

Forty people including students, faculty and alumni donated their time to improve the Penn State Mont Alto Arboretum during the “Every Day is Arbor Day” event on April 22.

Movies and Panel Discussion about Conservation

On March 30, the WITF documentaries “Mira Lloyd Dock: A Beautiful Crusade” and “Gifford Pinchot’s Conservation Legacy” will provide the basis for a panel discussion about the history and future of conservation and how to develop conservation leaders for the 21st century. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the General Studies Building Auditorium at Penn State Mont Alto. It is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
